Gravel Path Renovation - How to remove weeds in Gravel

Gravel is a really great surface for supporting light traffic and looks fantastic in the right place. However, it can be a little tricky to maintain.

Recently a customer approached us looking to hire some equipment to remove some well established weeds from their gravel surface. 

We were happy to help.

Our gravel path renovators come with a unique set of blades that cut underneath the weeds and lift them to the surface where they can be easily raked off. 

This has the added benefit of de-compacting the gravel, allowing the surface to drain much better and leveling the surface.

Needless to say, the customer was thrilled with the result they were able to achieve!

As you can see, the visual impact of the renovated surface is striking, but more than that; the surface can now be raked even and it holds much less water as a great proportion of the soil has been removed along with the weeds.  

Continued maintenance of a gravel surface would include regular raking, which could be done with a drag matt, or spring tine rake.

This particular task was carried out with the attachment on our UBS 2 wheel tractor, but it could equally have been achieved with a tractor mounted version of the machine.
